Jodi Forsythe, creator of www.whymassagetherapy.com has been a massage therapist since graduating in the year 2000 from the ICT Northumberland College 2200-hour Massage Therapy Diploma Program in Nova Scotia, Canada. Upon graduation, she successfully completed the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario Board Exams, earning the designation of Registered Massage Therapist. Since beginning to practice massage therapy, she has not only worked in physiotherapy, chiropractic and massage therapy practices in Nova Scotia and Ontario, she has continued her education areas such as (Basic) Manual Lymph Drainage (Vodder Schools North America), Scapular and Rotator Cuff Release, Craniosacral Therapy, CMTO Making Ethical Decisions and Maintaining Professional Boundaries and Hot Stone Massage and Aromatherapy.
Most recently, Jodi has also honed her therapeutic and communication skills as lead instructor at massage therapy colleges in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Teaching subjects such as orthopedic assessment, clinical treatments, massage techniques, hydrotherapy, anatomy, remedial exercise and professional development instilled a realization of the need for an accessible, online resource for therapists and the public, as well as furthering her conviction that massage therapy is a tool for living well.
In addition to classroom experience, she also held positions such as Registrar, Assistant Director of Education and Acting Program Manager. This administrative experience provided her the opportunity to learn first hand the day-to-day needs of both an educational institution and 100 massage therapy students.
